Surviving a ritual that killed almost everyone else leaves its marks. Code is that failed vessel: his white Karma, one of a kind, gives him, according to Amado, a strength surpassing Jigen's — to the point that he wears limiters. The last surviving Inner of Kara and head of the organization after Isshiki's death, he inherits his will. This profile details his Claw Marks, which open portals between marked places, and his role as an antagonist in Part 2 of Boruto.

The only one to have survived a ritual that killed all the others — except one. Marked with black claws, Code is the last loyal follower of Kara and the direct heir to the will of Isshiki Otsutsuki.

The Last Inner of Kara

After Isshiki's death, only one loyal inner officer remains: Code. He effectively becomes the head of what is left of Kara, recognizable by the black claw-shaped marks that cross his face (gray in the anime).

He is neither a flunky nor a mere Outer: he is the last link in a decapitated organization, determined to carry out its design.

The black claw marks that frame his face are his visual signature: they set him apart from the rest of Kara's members.

A Failed Vessel with a White Karma

During the ritual to select a vessel, Code went through the same convulsions as the candidates who died — but he survived, without becoming a viable host. He is the only failure to have come out of it alive.

Instead of dying, he obtained a white Karma, unique in the series. Careful not to reverse the two: Kawaki is the ritual's only success (black Karma), Code the only surviving failure.

The body cracks during the selection ritual: Code goes through the same convulsions as the candidates who do not survive it.

Stronger Than Jigen: The Limiters

According to Amado, the abnormal reaction of his body to the white Karma gave him power surpassing even Jigen's. Yet Kara eliminated anyone who became stronger than its apparent leader.

Spared for his unfailing loyalty, Code instead received limiters implanted by Amado — which only Amado can deactivate. As long as they are in place, the strength he shows is not his real strength.

The Claw Marks

His signature technique blends his chakra with the iron in his blood to create claw-shaped marks. These serve as space-time portals: he moves instantly between the places he has marked, and even between dimensions.

Since this alloy is physical, it is not absorbable by a Karma. Held back by his limiters, Code produced only a limited number of them; once freed, his use of them becomes far more formidable.

Isshiki's Legacy

On Isshiki's death — defeated by Naruto, Sasuke, Boruto and Kawaki —, his soul migrates to Code and emerges from his white Karma to deliver him one last message.

Code thus inherits the will of the Otsutsuki: grow the God Tree to produce a Chakra Fruit. One crucial point: Code is not Isshiki, and Isshiki is not resurrected inside him — he only passed on his last will.

It is from this defeat onward that the will of the Otsutsuki changes bearer and passes to Code.

An Antagonist of Part 2

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, still being published, Code becomes a major antagonist. He applies his marks to the young Ten-Tails to detach soldiers from it.

The story then takes an ironic turn — a story to be taken with caution: the God Tree clones he spawns become autonomous and slip out of his control. It is best not to state the details of this arc as definitive canon.

FAQ

  • Is Code the same kind of vessel as Kawaki?
No. Both survived Isshiki's Karma ritual, but Kawaki is its only success (a viable vessel, black Karma), while Code is a failed vessel: he survived with a white Karma, which grants power without allowing Isshiki's rebirth. Code is the only failed candidate to have survived.
  • Why did Code wear limiters?
His reaction to the white Karma made him more powerful than Jigen. Since Kara eliminated anyone who surpassed Jigen, but Code was of unfailing loyalty, he was implanted with limiters holding back his power — which only Amado could deactivate. Amado removes them from him later, multiplying his strength tenfold.
  • What are the "Claw Marks"?
It is his signature technique: by blending his chakra with the iron in his blood, he creates claw-shaped marks that serve as space-time portals to move between the places he has marked and between dimensions. Since this alloy is physical, it is not absorbable by a Karma.
  • What does Isshiki's legacy consist of?
After Isshiki's death, his soul migrates to Code and emerges from his white Karma to deliver him one last message. Code inherits the will of the Otsutsuki and vows to grow the God Tree. Careful: Code is not Isshiki and Isshiki is not resurrected inside him.
  • What is his role in Part 2 (Two Blue Vortex)?
He becomes a major antagonist: with his Claw Marks applied to the Ten-Tails, he sets off the creation of God Tree clones. But — the story is still ongoing — these clones become autonomous and slip out of his control. It is best not to state these details as definitive canon.

In summary

Code embodies a paradox: a failure turned into Kara's last weapon, a survivor who inherits a god's dream. His power, long held back, makes him one of the great threats of the new generation — for a story that has not yet had its last word.
