BorutoUrashikiOtsutsuki

He fishes for chakra with a rod and turns back time. Urashiki ranks among the most unusual antagonists in Boruto — and he exists only in the anime and the games, absent from every manga. His eyes switch between Byakugan and Rinnegan to rewind a few seconds, up to the time-travel arc where he targets the young Naruto and his Kurama. A profile of a mocking thief, with his singular status and his defeat at the hands of Boruto, Sasuke, and a still-young Jiraiya.

An Otsutsuki Who Fishes for Chakra and Turns Back Time — but who exists only in the anime. Urashiki is one of the most unusual antagonists in Boruto. So keep his particular status in mind.

An Anime-Only Antagonist

One point to make right away: Urashiki is an antagonist exclusive to the Boruto anime (and to spin-off games). He appears in no manga.

Kishimoto had designed him as the third member of Momoshiki 's group for the Boruto movie, then cut him in editing for lack of time. So he must not be placed at the canonical level of Momoshiki, Kinshiki, or Isshiki.

Urashiki exists only in the Boruto anime: no manga chapter features him.

The Clan's Chakra Thief

A member of the Otsutsuki clan, presented as lower-ranking, Urashiki is greedy, mocking, and obsessed with chakra. He backs up Momoshiki and Kinshiki, who came to Earth to harvest the chakra of a jinchuriki.

His signature weapon is a fishing rod made of chakra: he harpoons his target, "fishes" its chakra into a vessel he carries on his back, then reuses the stolen techniques — such as the Sage Transformation stolen from Mitsuki.

Eyes That Turn Back Time

Urashiki has a single pair of eyes able to switch at will between Byakugan and Rinnegan. With his blue Rinnegan, he rewinds a few seconds into the past.

This ability, above all defensive, gives the illusion that he "predicts" his opponents' movements. His red Rinnegan, for its part, is used to move between dimensions.

The Time-Travel Arc

An anime-original arc is devoted to him. Thanks to an Otsutsuki mechanical turtle , a time-transfer relic fished out by Konoha, Urashiki wants to go back to the era of the young Naruto to steal his Nine-Tails while he is still weak.

Boruto and Sasuke, caught up in the transfer, find themselves thrown into the Konoha of the past, where they cross paths with a Jiraiya who is still young. Note: the real time travel comes from the turtle, not from Urashiki himself.

The clash moves into a space-time saturated with fragments, the setting of the transfer into the past.

His Defeat Against the Young Jiraiya

His end is a team effort across time. In the past, Jiraiya traps him and distracts him with a Rasengan, Sasuke strikes him with his Kirin, leaving Boruto and the young Naruto the time to finish him off with a combined Rasengan.

Cornered, Urashiki had devoured his own Rinnegan to transform into a bird-like form — a nod to the tale of Urashima Taro, from which he takes his name and his fishing rod.

  • Who defeated Urashiki?
A team effort in the past: Jiraiya traps him and distracts him with a Rasengan, Sasuke strikes him with his Kirin, which gives Boruto and the young Naruto the time to finish him with their combined Rasengan. Cornered, he had devoured his own Rinnegan to transform into a bird-like form, a nod to Urashima Taro turned into a crane.

In summary

Urashiki is a case apart: an Otsutsuki cut out for the manga, exiled to the anime, who nonetheless delivers one of its most memorable arcs. His defeat, orchestrated across time by three generations of heroes, remains a fine gift to the fans — as long as you remember that it never happened in the manga.
