Behind the philanthropist CEO, a Kara Inner who refuses to die. A veteran of the Fourth Great Ninja War, Victor runs a medical company in the Land of Valleys and secretly grows a fake God Tree, fed on Hashirama cells stolen from Orochimaru, to buy himself immortality. His dying body is held together only by a curse mark. This profile follows his pursuit by Konohamaru and Mugino, his unmasking by Orochimaru and his execution by Kashin Koji, an arc developed mainly in the anime.

A dying old man ready to do anything for immortality. Behind the facade of a philanthropist CEO hides an Inner of Kara who secretly grows his own God Tree. Meet Victor, the man from the Land of Valleys.

An Undercover Inner

Victor is not just a businessman: he is an Inner member of Kara and a former shinobi who fought in the Fourth Great Ninja War. On the surface, he heads a large medical company in the Land of Valleys.

This company is nothing but a cover. His subordinate Deepa even hints that he owes his rank only to a large donation his company made to the organization.

In a building with large picture windows, an old man in a top hat and a coat bearing a gold logo faces a hooded figure in a black cloak.
The front and the reality: the chairman receives Deepa, his subordinate within Kara, in his own offices.

A Fake God Tree

His obsession: growing his own God Tree to draw a Chakra Fruit from it, a source of power and immortality. To that end he sacrificed employees of his company, meant to feed the tree.

But his tree is a fake, grown from Hashirama cells — which he had stolen from Orochimaru's laboratory. A detail with heavy consequences.

A tree with a twisted trunk, crowned by a large purple bud, grows in the middle of a courtyard surrounded by modern buildings and scaffolding.
The tree grown in the middle of the company's facilities: an incomplete replica, produced from Hashirama cells.

A Body Held Together by a Seal

An old man at the end of his life, Victor stays on his feet thanks to a curse mark that prolongs his existence — at the cost of a health that deteriorates as soon as he overexerts himself.

On top of that come modifications from Scientific Ninja Tools: he masters the five chakra natures, regenerates arms and head, and makes a second pair of giant arms appear. He is not a cyborg like the combat Inners, but a dying man cheating death.

An old man leaning on a cane makes a second pair of huge arms rise from his shoulders, crossed in front of him on guard, in the middle of a forest.
How far the modifications go: a second pair of giant arms grafted onto a dying body.

His Downfall and Orochimaru

In the anime, Victor is fought by Konohamaru and the jonin Mugino, while the team of Boruto — Sarada and Mitsuki — faces his subordinate Deepa. Note: it is not Victor who kills Mugino, but Ao.

At the climax, his God Tree, now sentient, turns against him and swallows him. Orochimaru then steps in — not to save anyone, but to recover his Hashirama cells — and reveals that the tree is a decoy.

A one-eyed old man in a dark suit, teeth clenched, is seized from all sides by long pale arms that grip him and pull him.
The final twist: the tree he fed with employees ends up seizing him.

Execution by Kashin Koji

His plan was doomed to fail: a Chakra Fruit, Orochimaru explains, can only be assimilated by the Otsutsuki, never by a human.

Victor ends up executed by Kashin Koji, who stabs him and then burns him with the True Fire of Samadhi — flames that keep him from regenerating. In the anime, it is a punishment for betrayal; in the manga, his death is dispatched in a few panels.

A man with white hair and a lined face, wearing a red cloak, holds a hand in front of his mouth while a wall of flames rises right beside him.
Kashin Koji's pyre: flames against which regeneration can do nothing.

FAQ

  • Is Victor just a businessman from the Land of Valleys?
No. He is an Inner member of Kara and a former shinobi who fought in the Fourth Great Ninja War; his medical company in the Land of Valleys is only a front for his secret research on the God Tree. Deepa even hints that he owes his rank of Inner only to a large donation his company made to Kara.
  • Who kills Victor, and why?
Kashin Koji. He stabs him and then burns him with the True Fire of Samadhi, eternal flames that keep him from regenerating. In the anime, it is an execution ordered for betrayal: Victor had stolen data from Kara and tried to divert the "vessel" to build himself an army. So it is not the heroes of Konoha who execute him.
  • Does Victor appear in the manga or only in the anime?
Both, very unevenly. In the manga, he has only a fleeting appearance (anonymous at first, "the old man") before being killed by Koji. The entire Land of Valleys arc, the growing of his God Tree and his fights are an anime-original expansion.
  • Could his immortality plan have worked?
No. His "God Tree" was a fake, grown from Hashirama cells stolen from Orochimaru. As Orochimaru reveals to him, a Chakra Fruit can only be assimilated by the Otsutsuki, never by a human. At the climax, the tree, now sentient, turns against Victor and swallows him.
  • Who actually fights Victor, and does he kill Mugino?
Victor is mainly fought by Konohamaru (backed by Mugino), while Boruto's team faces his subordinate Deepa. No, Victor does not kill Mugino: Mugino is killed by Ao, a Kara Outer. At the climax, it is the sentient God Tree, together with Orochimaru's intervention, that finishes Victor off.

In summary

Victor is the grim caricature of the new era: a veteran who, having failed to accept death and the passing of time, clings to a dream of immortality stolen from others. His fake God Tree, which devours him, says it all — in Boruto, wanting the power of gods when you are only a man always ends up turning against you.
